X ... ugh

i´m having some prob´s with the X configuration under linux slackware, and i´m sure you can help, after xf86config , when i run ´xinit´ i see only the top left corner of the desktop (kde, btw), why is that ? also, there´s no mouse, i choose a standrad ps/2 mouse with the location being /dev/mouse , but there´s no mouse.. thanks for the help.
