The tests in the IAF, as I remember them, where fairly easy, much easier than enrollment tests to major civilian flight academies in Europe. the IAF does take people and check if they can fly, that is why so many people start the course and get kicked out after 15 check flights. about PPL and advance flight training. you know yourself that bad habits are hard to remove, sometimes. some private pilots had crappy training and their base is not good enough. here, for example, if you have a PPL already and you want to swap some of the single engine hours in your syllabus for some advance or aerobatic hours, they check you in and out before allowing you that. how are you these days, mate?
