My Israeli passport was renewed after 5 years and is now near its 10 year expiry date. I want to apply for a new passport by post. On the passport application form it says to send my teudat zehut with the passport application. Can this be a photocopy or must it be the original teudat zehut? I do not want to send my original teudat zehut because I will need it while the MOI is processing my application. Also I understand that by law citizens must carry a teudat zehut with them. Thank you in advance for your answer.
