The Daily Mail Throughout the series, Mark Wright has been the favourite to win I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! But it looks like the Bushtucker Trial may have be the turning point for eventual winner Dougie Poynter after a particularly disgusting Bushtucker Trial. The McFly bassist, 24, was left gagging after eating an ostrich anus and bush pig's penis. For their final Bushtucker trial 'The final Party', they each had to eat a disgusting drink, starter, main course and dessert made of weird jungle concoctions, which would be worth a tastier alternative back at camp later on. Dougie didn't even wait to hear from Ant and Dec about what he was drinking and quickly downed a 'bloody scary' of blended emu liver. He said: 'It wasn’t that bad it tasted like blood and liver yeah.' Dougie nearly threw up after eating his starter of 'sushi degrotto' - made of a witchetty grub. Dougie struggled to eat his main course Dim Bum - an ostrich's anus - and had Mark providing support by saying: 'It’s just a bit of meat, eat it like it is a bit of meat sitting here like we are having a Chinese meal.' But poor Dougie ended up with one of the foulest dishes - a bush pig penis chopped into sections. As he chewed on one of the sections, Dougie cried: 'Penis tastes so bad!' Although they had successfully won a slap-up meal back at camp that night, it was not without a price. After leaving the Trial, both Dougie and Mark were sick on the bridge and again vomited back at camp. Still gagging from the memory, Dougie complained: 'The knob…the penis by far the worst.' As they decided what food they wanted for their last supper, Dougie was clearly still traumatised by the trial: 'This is the worst place to think about it…I can still taste bum, this is really hard to do when you can taste bum.' However, they eventually plumped for garlic pizza bread, lasagne, pizza, spaghetti Bolognese, chocolate brownies and sticky toffee puddings. Chowing down on the food after weeks of living on rations, Dougie exclaimed: 'his is way better than sex.' A gluttonous Mark agreed: 'Sex doesn't even come close.' Despite enjoying the food, Mark and Dougie admitted they felt sick after eating so much. Mark admitted: 'I've never eaten this much before.' ------------
BBC McFly bassist Dougie Poynter has been crowned "king of the jungle" after seeing off reality TV personality Mark Wright in the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! final. The pop star won the final public vote on the ITV1 show ahead of Wright, who appears in The Only Way Is Essex. Poynter said: "I'm lost for words, my mouth is so dry. These have been the best couple of weeks of my life." Wright told presenters Ant and Dec: "There couldn't be a better winner." Poynter and Wright spent 22 days together in the jungle as they watched their fellow contestants gradually voted off the show, in which celebrities undertake a series of trials to win food for the camp. ------------

It seems a long time since Freddie Starr arrived late, regaled camp mates with tales of hamster consumption and wolfed down plates of camel toe, mealworms and turkey testicles before being whisked away in an ambulance quicker than you can say "do I still get to keep my fee?". Last night, viewers saw new "best friends for life" DougiePoynter (McFly), and Mark Wright (The Only Way Is Essex) go head to head in the grand final. To win a slap-up feed, they too faced the now traditional platter of the private parts of Antipodean animals.Penis on a cocktail stick, vomit fruit dipping sauce and "dim-bum"(or ostrich anus to you and me). On being declared the winner, Dougie, who seems a genuinely nice guy, declared it the "best couple of weeks of my life". Which will be hurtful for his McFly bandmates. While the winner officially gets nothing more than a trophy and a week traipsing round thet abloids, the spoils can be great. Just ask Stacey. Even though lovable plonker Mark didn't win, he declared himself "110 per cent a better person", and the "happiest boy alive".Contemplating their final night in camp, he told Dougie that they should "do some mad shit... let's do each other's hair". -------------

Bookmakers William Hill had installed Wright as the 2/5 odds-on favourite to claim victory, with Poynter the 15/8 outsider. Poynter himself seemed shocked by the news, saying: "I'm lost for words, my mouth is so dry. "These have been the best couple of weeks of my life, I wish everybody in the world could experience that." -------------

MCFly musician Dougie Poynter beat his competition Mark Wright, who was actually the favourite to win, to gain the crown for being King of the Jungle. After 22 days in the jungle, Poynter was genuinely shocked by the news, stating: 'I'm lost for words, my mouth is so dry. These have been the best couple of weeks of my life. I wish everybody in the world could experience that.' However he confirmed that winning would not affect the firm friendship that he had established with Wright in the jungle. Wright was quick to declare: 'There couldn't be a better winner than this man here. He deserves it so much, he is the nicest guy in the whole world.' Before the results had been announced, Poynter had admitted to Ant & Dec that it would have been difficult for both of them to get to where they were without each other. The pair had to take part in their final Bushtrucker trial, The Final Party, on the last day to win them a huge feast for their supper on the final
