How did your mother react to your success? Well, I have been keeping my mouth shut about my win for the past five months. It's a tough secret to keep because I was so excited to win, but after a while of being sequestered, it seemed like a dream, like it didn't really happen. I went right back to work. Although I couldn't waitress anymore, I did need to do odd jobs, like yard work and pruning gardens locally in Joliet to be able to pay my bills. That's how I got this tan : outside, mowing lawns. I couldn't tell anyone that I had won, not even my mom, who I have lived with the entire time, nor the other girls eliminated before me. It was fun watching the show each week with her. She kept asking me questions like, "Why didn't you tell me you went to Paris?" I have this big Italian family where there's lots of love and big pasta dinners, but if I had even told one person, the secret would have spread like wildfire.
