INTERVIEW GUY: This is normally the point in the show in which people keep standing and clapping, but this year -- remember I said Adam wasn't leaving? In honor of it being an ad craft luncheon, these guys have agreed to join me in a panel discussion on marketing effectiveness. Adam can come on out. KRIS: Come on, don't let me do this alone. IG: That's right. We got stools now, guys. This'll be painless, I promise. But we have.... ADAM: For you. IG: That's right. A: LOL. IG: We have questions that have been submitted from the audience and I have them here in my pocket. A: Is that music going to be playing while we do it? I like it. It adds suspense. K: *jigs out to music* IG: It's like the one time of the year I get to do it with music behind me, so I told them never to stop. A: We're never going to be able to get away from that theme music. IG: Or they can cut it off. A: Chases us all over the country. IG: They wont listen to us any of us. K: I like it. IG: All right, so the first question is actually for Adam.... Adam, growing up dreaming of being a performer and everything you've done in your life and thought you could ever possibly accomplish, would you say that performing for the ad craft [???] is the pinnacle of your entertainment career or the highest fulfillment of a lifelong dream? A: Yes. Thank you. I've been following you guys around for the last 150 years. Thank you. Life long dream. IG: Okay, the 2nd one is for Kris. Kris, is it true that the only reason you entered American Idol was because you heard you could win a Ford Fusion hybrid? K: Um, why wouldn't I join after that? Anything in the word, G? [???! WTF?] IG: All right, we gotta talk, because those two were submitted by me. This one's for Adam. It's from Kristy, Josh, Jerry, and Becky, you guys out there? Your question's being asked. How do you feel about Ellen being a new judge this year? A: I think she's going to be great. She's hilarious. I think she'll bring a viewer perspective to the show. I know she's going to make Simon squirm, too, because she's going to be able to get him. She's quick. I can't wait to see them doing their little cat fights. I think it'll be good. IG: All right, that's great. Kris, we got one for you. What is the most difficult lesson you've learned about yourself as a result of your sudden fame? K: Um, the most difficult lesson, and I've known this for a while, is that I like to procrastinate. And you can't really do that in this business. So that's been hard to learn. IG: Do you really like having a million people backstage leading you around, are you used to that? K: I think we're used to it. We just did a 52 city tour. So we did it almost every night. IG: I dunno how they do it. K: But it's over. A: For now. IG: I hope you guys get a vacation. K: Nope. IG: Okay, Adam, here's another one for you. This one is from Emily, and she put a little cloud around your name. K: And hearts, too. IG: We're gonna give you this to keep. K: Actually, can I have it? A: Yeah, Kris wants it. [Amusing shit I can't understand for the life of me but Kris says "I understand that"] IG: Actually, you can answer this question, too, and then you can tear the sheet in half. How long does it take you to do your hair and do you do it yourself? A: [Flips hair] Well, um. Yeah, uh, I do do it myself. I dunno, it takes a couple minutes. K: Depends on the 'do, right? A: It depends on the 'do, yeah. K: He's got the thing going... A: The pompadoure is a lot more involved. K: Takes a while. A: Blow dryers and back combing. K: He needs help with that. A: Kris actually... we were roommates, and he would help me... K: I'm DONE. A: I introduced a whole new world of PRODUCT. K: I was like in the back while he wasn't there trying to, like "what does this do? Oh, it turns your hair blue." IG: All right, we wont prolong this, we'll throw a few more out there. Kris, what's the biggest change you've had to make since becoming THE AI? K: I would say the biggest change would have to be... I mean, we don't get to see our parents that much. So maybe being away from my wife and my family and stuff. I'm happy to be doing what I'm doing, you know. IG: Listen, we really, really appreciate you guys being here. One more question from you. How about if you guys do one more song together? Will you do it? A: We could do something. K: Done. [Kris gets his guitar, bantering that I can't understand] A: I'm so jealous. K: It was a jooooke. A: I wish I could play the guitar. I don't play anything. I'll dance, I dunno. K: Everybody would be down for that. A: Nahhh, just kidding. I don't think you can dance to acoustic guitar, it doesn't really work. K: That's... a lie. A: I mean, you COULD, I dunno. K: We're just making this up on the spot, by the way. [Song begins, sounds amazing, we all die amazing deaths]
