פרפרי בטן, חששות וראשון בין כל אלה שלא עושים!
Shalom banot, Tov, my son and his wife returned to the States last night. Sigh, and life picks up as it was before - imunim, eat, sleep, and time for the computer. Most of my work starts after the chagim... (I teach Bar and Bat Mitzvah for youth with special needs in the school system.) פרפרי בטן והתרגשות before a competition is SOOOO natural. I also have problems sleeping AND diarrhea before the race...
I think it shows excitement, understanding of our developing ability in sport, our daring to do something new. It always makes me happily nervous! I think if I lose the wonder and tension and even fear, I might not have such an explosion of joy at the end!! It's a lesson in contrasts! I rarely feel calm and at peace on the start line (others do though and I envy them the ability to be calm AND ready to GO!) And coming in last - remember... those who come in last are the FIRST of those who can't or won't do the race. And remember - I was a bit disappointed in Merutz Gilad that my husband gracefully "took" the last place, because he was trying to keep my honor in tact. I WANTED that last place - I deserved every second of it, true GLORY and pride!!!! And as you know our motto is (let's say it together): כל אחת מנצחת!! Re clothing for the bike and run segments. I put on my tri suit for a duathlon (run-bike-run) also. It's comfortable, provides me both padding for the bike, but freedom for the run, as it's minimum padding. As I said, I have a two piece tri suit, but a one piece would work too. Now a confession. Most of you recognize me... and I smile and LOVE the fact that I can symbolize something so positive that you do for yourselves. BUT.. I don't know who most of you are, and in addition, I have a terrible memory for names. SOOO.. please... when you see me in Caesaria, or elsewhere, please introduce yourselves!!! Love and hugs, Susie
